Welcome to Washington International Club is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, apolitical service organization. Founded by women for women in 1959 to welcome international women to Washington, DC by providing a friendly social and educational environment. To date, Welcome to Washington International Club has over 500 members, representing over 80 countries. Their social and academic programs range from language groups to art tours.
Top Shelf had the pleasure of working with them to create a beautiful new site to appeal to their feminine, international audience. This site is meant to convey the fascinating history associated behind the club since it was founded by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1959. Since this club does have a very international audience, a simple and intuitive design was key. The navigation is all very straightforward, and the reader also has the option to select what language they would like the content to be displayed.
